Ronald Earl Welch, Sr, age 74, of Bastrop, Texas, formerly of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2023, at a Bastrop Nursing Home due to complications with cancer under Hospice.
Officiating will be Pastor Rusty Cook of Bastrop, Texas, and Pastor Harold Welch of Webberville, Texas.
Ronald Earl Welch, Sr. “Ronnie” passed on to Heaven with his eyes looking up to the light of Jesus Christ. Ronnie was born on June 29, 1949, in Orange, Texas to Junior Welch and Ore Dee Welch. He was married to Sandra Darlene for 45 years. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather had a good heart to always wanting to do the right thing. The proudest moment in his life when he married and became a Father to his sons, Keith Dwayne Welch, Ronald Earl Welch, Jr., Nathaniel Earl Welch, and Grandfather to Jayden and McKenzie Welch.
Ronnie was proud of being a Veteran in the Marine Corp where he served three years. He was Corporal in VietNam, 1st Battalon, 5th Marines and was a Member of the American Legion, VFW. Ronnie retired in 2017 as an Electrical Designer for Engineering Firms for over 45 years all over the United States and Internationally, including Alaska, Saudi Arbia, and Nigeria.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his Parents Junior Welch and Ora Dee Welch; Brother, Nathaniel Lee Welch; and his son, Keith Dwayne Welch in 2022.
Those left to celebrate his memory are his Wife, Sandra Darlene Welch; Son-Nathaniel Earl Welch; Son-Ronald Earl Welch, Jr.; Grandchildren Jayden Welch& McKencie Welch children of Keith Welch; BrotherCharles Welch and his wife Donna of Highland, Texas; Sister-Brenda Scales and her husband Johnny Scales of Bridge City, Texas; BrotherHarold Welch and his wife Sylvia of Webberville, Texas; Brother-John D. Welch of Orange, Texas; Aunt-Patsy Allbright of McLewis, Texas. With many, nieces and nephews and cousins on both sides. 1 Brother-in-law-Robert Purcell; Sister-in-laws-Lora Purcell of Stuart, Florida; Deborah Henson; Martha Purcell, Joan Gore of Silsbee, Texas, and Gwen Bates of Houston, Texas.
Visitation for family and friends through Dorman Funeral Home will be held at Cowboy Church of Orange County, 673 FM 1078 Orange, Tx., Friday, January 5, 2023. Viewing will be at 9:00 am to 10:00 am for Family; Public viewing 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to service which Service will begin at 11:00 am. Military Honors will be officiating, SETX Veterans Service Group. In lieu of flowers please bring a card with a written memory of Ronnie for Sandra and the family to cherish.
