Minister Luther E. Fairley, 72, passed away on December 25, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Born on January 13, 1951, to the late AJ Fairley and Leanna McCullum in Beaumont, Mississippi, he was a beloved husband to Monica Fairly, a cherished parent, a dear friend to many, and a dedicated employee.
After coming of age in Mississippi, Luther ventured out to New York, which he infectiously called “the big city,” where he resided during his young adult years. He eventually settled back in the South and built a career and life. Luther worked in various manufacturing companies and was known for being a dedicated and trusted employee. If you wanted something done well and right, everyone knew Luther Fairley was the man to get the job done. He was employed at Austin Industrial until his passing.
Luther was a man who was equally committed to his spiritual life and hobbies. He was a dedicated member of the Full Gospel Holy Temple Church in Orange, TX, where he served as a minister. Luther used his musical skills and love for individuals to serve God’s people. He found joy in gardening, sports, and action movies. These were his passions that kept him engaged and entertained.
Minister Luther E. Fairley was known for his love of God, dedication to his family, and commitment to maintaining a beautiful garden and lawn. Additionally, he was a faithful employee. He will be remembered for being a go-getter and always being on the move. He touched the lives of countless individuals with his integrity and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Foster and Louise Bolton, and his brother, William “Pop” Bolton.
He is survived by his wife, Monica E. Fairley; Daughters Serena (Mike) Hyman, LaToria Spikes, and Manikka Bowman (Jeff Myers); grandchildren, Jamal Henderson, James Spikes III, Zora B Myers, and Zyla E Myers; and two great-grandchildren, Rose Elaine Elouise Spikes, and Ava Love Henderson, siblings; Connie Gavin, Deanna Fairley, Joyce Jones, and Keith (Gilda) Fairley; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on January 6, 2024, at Full Gospel Holy Temple Church, 911 Main Avenue, Orange, Texas. Visitation will start at 11 am, and the funeral service will begin at noon.
