
Demetria Lynn Cleveland was born on August 22, 1977 to Willie and Lee Francis Cleveland in Houston, Texas. Demetria, affectionately known as Mecha or B, was an inquisitive and humorous child.
Demetria was baptized at an early age at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Orange, Texas where she remained a member. As a child she was a member of the youth choir, attended vacation Bible school and Sunday school.
Demetria was a Class of 1995 graduate of West Orange Stark High School located in Orange, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Lamar University in 2022.
She was an employee of West Orange Stark Independent School District from 2014 – 2023, most recently serving as a Library Aide at West Orange Stark Middle School. She worked in customer service for 20 years prior to working in the school system.
In her pastime, she enjoyed reading books, journaling, watching movies, and making memories with friends and family.
Demetria entered her eternal rest on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Demetria was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Kaleb T. Berry; and brother-in-law, Mavis Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Kaiden Jeremiah Berry; sister, Nicolette Tara Williams of Orange, Texas; brothers Brian (Lynska) Cleveland of Dallas Texas; and Desmond Kendall (Nakeisha) Cleveland of Zachary, Louisiana; nieces and nephews Anthony, Korie, Kamerin, Keyshawn, Kendall, Nyja, David, MeMe, Logan, Paige, and Lailah; God-children Sidney, London, Nathan, Na’Kaiya, Naquan, and Keyshawn; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Saturday December 2nd, 2023, at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 1109 2nd Street Orange Tx. Service time is at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the time of service.
