
Bullets Bust Out Back Windshield of Car
An unknown shooter shattered the back windshield of a car as three women and two children were inside. Orange police report the shooting was about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 1000 block of Orange Avenue. Officer L.T. Holland said he met the women in a parking lot a couple of blocks away and saw the windshield. The women told him the car was in a vacant lot next to the railroad tracks. Two of the women live next to the lot. They heard two shots. The driver immediately sped away and called police.
Man drank ‘two small boxes of wine’
Orange police arrested a man in a parking lot Tuesday morning who had a blood alcohol level almost four times the legal amount. The man from Tucson, Arizona, told Officer T.P. Pruitt that he had “two small boxes of wine.” Police were called to the store at 3118 Edgar Brown Drive because people saw a man sitting in the parking lot. The officer called Acadian Ambulance Service because he was concerned about his level of intoxication. The man refused the ambulance so Pruitt took him in the patrol car to Baptist Hospital Emergency Room. Medical personnel reported the alcohol in his blood was measured at 0.313. Legally intoxicated is 0.08. The man was kept at the emergency room and later taken to the Orange County Jail.
Mowers Missing from Backyard
A resident in the 100 block of Azalea Drive called Orange police Tuesday morning after discovering that two lawn mowers had been stolen from the back yard during the night. The missing mowers are red Toro push models worth a total of about $600.
