
Texas Workforce Commission grants for educational equipment and programs at LSCO, LSCPA, and five local school districts
Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) partnered with the Texas Workforce Commission to host a Regional Jobs & Education for Texas (JET) Grant Check Presentation. Texas Workforce Commission awarded 12 grants to seven local recipients.
The event took place at September 14 at LIT’s Connie and Paul Szuch Multi-Purpose Center Conference Room in Beaumont.
The JET program provides grants to eligible entities to purchase and install equipment necessary for the development of career and technical education courses or programs that lead to a license, certificate or post-secondary degree in a high-demand occupation.
Lamar State College Orange received a check for $434,591.00 and Deweyville ISD received a check for $257,386. Also receiving checks were LSCPA, Spurger ISD, Woodville ISD, Newton ISD, and Jasper ISD.
