Harold Glenn Tynes, 72, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on September 2, 2023.
Glenn, which he adamantly preferred going by, will be missed and remembered by all of those he touched throughout his life. Born on February 11, 1951, he was the oldest of four children born to William Robert Tynes Jr. and Mahalia Kirby Tynes of Deweyville, TX. Glenn attended Deweyville schools and proudly graduated in 1969 from Deweyville High School.
A dedicated and hardworking man, he enjoyed his days as a Lab Technician at Dupont and Koch Industries in Orange, TX. One of his most passionate accomplishments was when he completed his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and became a plant EMT for Dupont. Glenn loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he valued the time he was able to spend with his buddies and all the stories they would share together. In his younger days, he led a Boy Scout troop and regularly recalled time spent with them on outings and especially their trip to Camp Philmont.
After his retirement, Glenn moved to Bella Vista, AR to be with his wife, GayLyn, who was already preparing their home there and where he quickly became involved with the church and the community. As most know, Glenn loved to talk about anything and everything. He enjoyed his time working at the Bella Vista Marina because he could do just that. Bella Vista had become his home and he loved to share about the community and the joys of living there. Although he loved his new Bella Vista family, Glenn never allowed anyone to doubt his pride as a true Texan.
Above all things, Glenn loved the Lord and wanted everyone he knew or met to know Him. He could recall the Roman Road by heart and loved to study God’s word and be in His presence. He would begin his week on Monday with men’s bible study at New Life NWA Church, and on Wednesday’s he had breakfast with his good friends from Village Bible Church where the old guys give each other advice about everything but mostly discuss how following Jesus could solve this world’s problems. He enjoyed attending the service of his choosing and worshiping alongside his wife GayLyn.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Tynes Jr.; and brother, Clyde Tynes.
Glenn loved his family more than any man has ever loved. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, GayLyn whom he loved with all of his being; his loving mother, Mahalia Tynes of Bella Vista, Arkansas; brother, Gerald Wayne Tynes and wife, Jan of Mauriceville, Texas; sister, Kathy Welch and husband, Kenneth of Deweyville, Texas; his two sons, Russ Raley and wife, Rebel of Orange, Texas and Matthew Tynes and wife, Lisa of Coweta, Oklahoma; grandsons, Taylor Raley and Trenton Tynes; granddaughters, Courtney Raley, Sterling Miller, Hannah Tynes and Elizabeth Tynes; great grandchildren, Hensley and Brantley Theis; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
“For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps.” 1 Peter 2:21
