Emogene Porter, 82, of Orange, Texas, passed away at her daughter’s home peacefully, on Monday morning, August 21, 2023, in Orange, Texas. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Harvest Chapel Church. Rite of committal and interment will immediately follow, at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation of family and friends will be held prior to services, from 10:00 AM 12:00 PM, at Harvest Chapel Church. Arrangements were made under the care of Dorman Funeral Home.
Emogene Anglian was born on June 7, 1941, in Martin, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Eugene Porter; precious sons, Michael Edward Porter and Shawn Ray Porter; mother, Edith Elliott; brother, Vern Jackett; and granddaughter, Nicole Sue Regel.
Emogene was an active member of Harvest Chapel Church, in West Orange, Texas. She also was the church secretary. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ above all. She enjoyed arranging flowers and traveling on vacations.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Gonzales and her husband, Mike, of Mauriceville, Texas, and Linda Frederick and her husband, Charles, of Orange, Texas; son, David Porter and wife, Susan, of Bridge City, Texas; six grandchildren, Melissa Dreyer, of Orange, Texas, Michelle Prosper and husband, Emerson, of Houston, Texas, Henry Gonzales and wife Breyn, of Orange, Texas, Lauren Whipkey and husband, Josh, of Bridge City, Texas, Ciara Perry and husband, Blake, of Orange, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Shawn Dreyer, of Mauriceville, Texas, Candice Regel, of Orange, Texas, Shyain Dreyer, of Orange, Texas, Brodie Perry, of Orange, Texas, Aiden Regel, of Orange, Texas, Paisley Perry, of Orange, Texas, Logan Gonzales, of Orange, Texas, Brynlee Gonzales, of Orange, Texas, Rowan Gonzales, of Orange, Texas; and numerous members of extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Total Care Hospice staff for the love and care shown to Emogene and thanks to Dorman Funeral Home, for their care and help during this time.
Honoring Emogene as pallbearers are Josh Whipkey, Blake Perry, Shawn Dreyer, Henry Gonzales, Mike Gonzales, and Nick Gonzales.
