William Glover, 92, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023. He was born on October 3, 1930 in Beaumont to William and Viola Glover. Will married the great love of his life, Reba (Pitter) Willamson on February 7, 1951. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Will retired from Texas Gulf Sulphur and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Vidor.
Will’s life was exemplified by his gentle nature, hard work ethic, coupled with his wit and optimism. He was always ready to help anyone in need. Will was an avid fisherman and was known for his legendary fish fry’s. He passionately loved his family, and surrounded his home with pictures of them and his time in the Marines, which he gladly shared with anyone who visited. Will’s greatest past time was spending time with his grandson and namesake, Matthew William, and loved watching him play and then coach football and softball. He was a loyal fan, even attending games into his 90’s.
Mr. Glover was preceded in death by Pitter, his sweetheart and wife of 52 years, his parents, sisters Marie Bailey and Willie Mae Smith. Will is survived by his devoted daughter Cheryl Robertson and husband Marv of Orangefield, grandson Matt Robertson of Orange, his brother Dwight Glover of Vidor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the devoted neighbors and friends that have graciously helped during this time. Your outpouring of love and service encouraged us all.
