There’s going to be some work done on I-10 this weekend that’s going to create traffic issues. The work is necessary for TxDOT to finish the project in Orange County but hopefully with this warning, those of us that drive the area everyday will know how to get around it.
From Friday, June 9 at 8p through Monday at 5pm, I-10 eastbound will be closed between Woodlark and 16th. That means traffic will exit to the feeder road after going over the MLK overpass and then re-enter on the new ramp just past the Valero Store at the 23rd St. intersection. Which is good news that they won’t be going through the 16th St. intersection, according to TxDOT.
At the same time, one lane on the westbound side of I-10 in that same area, will be closed. So needless to say, I-10 itself is going to be backed up through the weekend.
