Bridge City handed LCM their first district loss with a dramatic 2-1 Tuesday.
The Cards took a 1-0 lead in the first on back to back doubles by Haley Munoz and Nicole Sasser off LCM pitcher Tessa Erickson. But Erickson would settle in while BC’s Carson Fall was her usual self, mowing down one batter after another.

In the top of the seventh, catcher Lexi Moss would triple and Ava Wright would hit a sacrifice fly to center field to drive in Moss and tie the game.
The Cards (7-1) would come up in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Makenna Knight would double to center field. Kylie Hamilton was at the plate attempting to bunt when a pitch got past the catcher, allowing Knight to go to third. As Knight was approaching third the catcher was throwing the ball back to the pitcher. The two miscommunicated, the ball started rolling towards second base and BC Head Coach Raven Harris began yelling for Knight to go. She would reach home plate and that’s how the game would end. Fall would end up with 15K’s. The Bears drop to 6-1.
