
James John “Jim” Werner, Sr., 80, of Frisco, Texas died suddenly at his home on Friday, January 27, 2023. Jim was born on April 23, 1942, to James and Barbara (Amann) Werner in St. Louis, Mo.
It was in St. Louis where he met his future bride, Marilyn (Kubiak). He and Marilyn were married in 1960 at St. Agnes Church in St. Louis. Jim served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1959-1963 and was proud to serve his country. In 1970 Jim moved his family from St. Louis, Missouri to Texas and began his career in the auto industry. He managed various car dealerships, eventually operated a car auction business in Southeast Texas.
He enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. He loved to cook for large gatherings and always made sure that no one left hungry. He also loved to play golf, travel to visit family and shop for a great bargain. He was a private, generous person with a great sense of humor that went out of his way to help others.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 62 years, Marilyn; son, Jim Werner Jr. and wife Lisa; son, Dennis and wife Kara; daughter, Ellen Milligan and husband Mark; daughter, Terri Werner. Five grandchildren, Claire Moore and husband Josh, Elise, Leo and wife Emma Jayne, Celia and Emma, as well as three great-grandchildren: Elijah, Grace and John Moore. He is also survived by his sister Marion Hebrank, many nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be under the direction of North Dallas Funeral Home. There will be a Rite of Christian Burial Mass at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Prosper, Texas on Friday February 24, 2023 at 10:30am central time. Followed by a full Military Honor Service.
