
The LCM Bears had a strong first quarter and went on to beat WOS 81-51. Ben Elliott scored 11 of the Bears 22 in the first as they took an 11 point lead. Elliott would finish with 28 and 16 rebounds. Alantheon Winn had 15 going 10-12 from the free throw line. Ty Blackmon hit three 3’s and Da’Marion Morris had 9 assists and 8 rebounds. Bears are 19-9 (3-2) and will go to Silsbee Friday. Germicah Davis hit five 3’s for the Mustangs and finished with 17 pts, and Darren Anderson added 10 including a nice dunk.

Orangefield whipped Kountze 70-47. The Bobcats (5-1) had three in double figures: Pete Ragusa 18 (10 reb, 8ass.), Kane Smith 13 and Jaden Scales 12. Zane Wrinkle had 8 rebounds, 6 points and 5 assists. Kountze drops to 3-3.

Vidor lost to Lumberton 63-53. The Pirates (1-4) lead most of the game but had three players foul out late and the tide turned. Zander Lindsey had 14 and 5 rebounds. Brayden Root scored 14 and pulled down 10 boards. Bryce Loftin added 12 with 4 assists and 4 rebounds.

Bridge City beat Jasper 47-39. Varsity moves to 3-2 in district and 16-12 overall. BC JV and freshmen also won. BC will travel to West Orange-Stark on Friday to conclude the first half of district.

Vidor lost to Lumberton 41-36. The Lady Pirates are now 1-6 in district.

Deweyville beat Sabine Pass 41-7. Emilee Totino 21 points, 8 rebounds; Adisyn Thompson 5 points, 3 assists; Jill Thompson 4 points, 5 rebounds. The Lady Pirates (1-3) will finish out the first round of district with West Hardin at home Friday.

Bridge City lost at Jasper 62-42. Whitney Cunningham led BC with 10 points. Makena Knight had the most steals while the trio of Kaylee Britten, Rylynn Thornton, and Cambree Lacomb led with the most rebounds for the Lady Cardinals.

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats took on the Kountze Lionettes tonight and fell 75-31. Greenlea Oldham had 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks; Kaylea Gravett had 7 points and 6 rebounds; Steelye Franklin had 5 points and Kendall Sullivan had 4. The Lady Bobcats will travel to Kirbyville on Friday.

LCM got the win over WOS 39-22. Both teams had trouble shooting the ball. WOS lead 6-1 when the Bears got their first field goal with 1:58 left in the first quarter. The Lady Bears took a 19-18 halftime lead thanks to 13 points from Keylie Washburn. The Mustangs hung around in the third but in the fourth they couldn’t score a point as their 6 man roster appeared worn down. Washburn finished with 24. Belle Fisher added 6 and Chrissy Joseph and Mackenzie Clark had 3. For WOS, Jordynn Patton had 10 and Marylynn Guillory 6.
