A 14 and 15 year old boy from Vidor died after the vehicle they were driving hit a parked Recreational Vehicle then caught fire.
The Dept. of Public Safety said the accident happed around 2am on 1330 Concord Street, approximately one mile south of Vidor.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates on December 18, 2022, a 2012 Dodge Journey was traveling north when it struck a utility pole and a parked Recreation Vehicle. The Dodge and RV caught fire with both the 15 year old driver and 14 year old passenger trapped inside the vehicle. Both were pronounced deceased by Orange County Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose-Simonton.
The occupant of the RV, Julia Teeters, 57, of Vidor, was not injured.
This is an ongoing investigation, and there is no additional information available for release at this time.
