The 13th Annual Granger Chevrolet/KOGT.com Can Drive held Thursday morning will keep The Salvation Army and Orange Christian Services busy for a while, stocking their shelves but Judy Jensen of OCS says, “That’s a good problem to have.”
Businesses, schools and individuals brought bags, boxes and trailers of food while some, like Lanmark Staffing and Atty. Rodney Townsend made donations.
“You think about the folks that don’t have, and those of us that do have, have the opportunity to lend a hand to those reaching up,” Townsend said. “And you never know, we may be the ones reaching up one day so it’s important to help out when you can.”
The Granger Sales Team, the LCM Bass Club along with the Orangefield Interact Club and the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) helped unload and sort out all of the food so an equal amount went to each organization.
“All of this food stays right here in Orange County,” said Al Granger. “And I think that’s important that we take care of each other.”
We appreciate everyone that donated but a special shoutout to Annely Domas and the kids at West Orange Stark Elementary, WOSMS, Orangefield ISD, St. Mary School, Gopher Industrial, DOW, and the Ferguson Family for going above and beyond collecting canned goods.
