It is with a broken heart but a rejoicing spirit the family announces that God has called his Angel home. Melinda “Mindy” Lea Barrow, age 65, of Deweyville, Texas, now has a voice that can be heard and is signing praises with the Angels in Heaven. Graveside services to honor Mindy will be held at Deweyville Cemetery Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 12:00P.M.
Mindy was welcomed into this world by her loving and rejoicing parents Robert and Lena Barrow on September 20, 1957. She was the first born of three hatchlings. Her brother that she worshiped and loved so dearly James Randal “Randy” Barrow followed and then the baby hatchling of the family that Mindy spoiled rotten and got in so much trouble with D’Andra “Dee” Barrow. She also had an adopted hatchling-sister Debbie Diane Permenter that she loved to just hang out with and sign about the thunderstorms rumbling outside.
There were many things that Mindy taught family and friends to cherish in life; live, laugh and love. Always forgive those who hurt you and friends can be family. Her angelic quick smile could light up a room brighter than a Christmas tree and she had a laugh that was so infectious it can still be heard. She attended Lufkin State School and enjoyed visitations at home but was always ready to go back to her family at the State School in Lufkin. Always being the optimist she taught her family to look for the silver lining around each challenge. She loved riding her bike or driving the “four wheeler” (lawn mower) as fast as could go. Feeling the wind on her face or a fish nibbling on her fishing pole always seemed to set her free. As the years crept up she found great joy in video games and played cards for hours. She loved drinking coffee while watching the wind blow through the many flags and windmills on her back porch. Mindy will be forever cherished and missed by all that know her.
Melinda is preceded in death by her loving and mischievous daddy Robert Barrow; both sets of grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Mindy is survived by her amazing and devoted momma Lena Barrow; deeply loved brother Randy Barrow and wife Jeni of Orangefield, Texas; sisters D’Andra “Dee” Barrow and her faithful dog Frayja of Deweyville, Texas, Debbie Permenter and husband Tommy of Orange, Texas; nephews, Brandon Barrow, Bryce Barrow, Kody Gros; niece Sheyenne Barrow; and extended family and friends from Lufkin State School as well a slough full of extended family and friends.
