On Friday the community came together once again to collect non-perishable food items for the less fortunate and United Way Director Maureen McAllister called it a success.
The items that were dropped off at the Salvation Army in Orange and the United Christian Center in Vidor benefitted food pantries with the above two along with the Bridge City/Orangefield Ministerial Alliance, FBCO, and Orange Christian Services.
“We had over 1300 items turned in as well as $1250 in cash donations,” McAllister said. “We also had 40 volunteer their time to help.”
