Voter registration cards issued through the Orange County Elections Administration office expire on the final day of the calendar year which is Friday, Dec. 31. Because the county was required to redistrict the four precincts the elections office needed more time to prepare the new voter registration cards.
The Elections Administration office indicated that it will probably be mid-January 2022 before the new cards will be received by citizens who are registered to vote. Early voting for the March primaries begins on February 14 so that is still plenty of time for the mailing of the new cards. State elections regulations require a photo identification and not the voter registration card as the primary source of identifying voters wanting to cast a ballot.
