
Rose May McCarver, age 82 of Hartburg, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at her home. A memorial service to honor Rose and her daughter, Barbara Smith will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Rose was born on July 31, 1939 in Newport, Kentucky to parents, Bertha Ashcraft Owens and John Albert Owens. She and her husband Charles Naegele made their home in the Orange area to raise their six children. She was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Rose took great pride in being a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed playing dominos, especially moon, with her family and friends. She loved to dance and was a wonderful cook. She also loved taking the occasional chance on a slot machine and her favorite drink was a mixture of wine & Pepsi. Rose will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Russell Naegele and her second husband Joseph McCarver, her daughters, Gayle Naegele, Rhonda Naegele, Barbara Smith, Terry Russell, son in law Clarence Russell and son Charlie Naegele, grandson Russell Naegele and parents John and Bertha Owens and siblings Sonny Owens, Jerry Owens, Timmy Owens and Billy Owens and sister Darlene Owens.
Those left to cherish her memory are son James C. Naegele and his wife Carol of Mauriceville, TX, son-in-law James Breaux of Orangefield, TX, brother; George Owens and wife Jo, sister’s; Linda Paynter, Wanda Lawrence and Violet Garnau, grandchildren; Melita Trout, Jonathan Naegele, Christopher Wilson, Joshua Russell, Ashley Smith, Kristen Mire, Austin Smith, Chad Osborn and Candy Carter and numerous great grandchildren.
