Phyllis Turner Romero, 74, of Hemphill, Texas passed away on November 5, 2021, in Orange, Texas.
Born in Orange, Texas on January 23, 1947, she was the daughter of Willie Jewel and Dan Turner.
Phyllis was the youngest of 5 children. She had many hobbies throughout her life from painting to cake decorating. By nature, she was kind, generous, and made everyone feel the upmost love and importance. Everyone that she came across was always made feel a part of the family, caring for others because kindness didn’t cost anything. She always knew how to put as smile on your face even if it was a single warm, “God bless you” to get you through the day. She loved to spend quality time with her family, cooking large meals for everyone to enjoy and ensuring everyone’s comfort in her home. She could make the best meals and cakes from scratch, even from the simplest recipe. She valued her small community in Fairmount-Beachwood IV, always lending a helping hand to those who needed it. Before her husband’s passing, she was a dedicated wife and caregiver. A loving mother, who always had kept their best interest at heart and had unconditional love for her children. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, spending her summers with the kids fishing, watching late night movies, and making the best midnight snacks. Her love has had an everlasting effect on her family and those that had the opportunity to meet her that will last through the years to come.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willis ‘Joe’ Romero, brother, JE Turner, and sister, Patricia Knott. She is survived by her son, Rob Bland, and wife Lisa of Orange. Stepchildren, Carlene Wheat and husband Richard of Bridge City, Celia Dominguez and husband David, and Joey Romero and wife Patty of Port Neches. Special thanks to her niece, Stacy Tilley, who was like a daughter with all of her love and support. Also, a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
