
The Celebration of Life for Shon Terrain McDonald, 42 of Orange, Texas, will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 1:00pm at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Host Pastor C.W. Crawford. Special thanks to Team Rubicon Disaster Response for saving his life at his residence, but God had a different plan. God chose to call him home on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Beaumont, Texas. The viewing will be from 11:30 -1:00pm on Saturday. The burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery. A repast reception will be held immediately afterwards at 202 W. Cypress Ave.
Shon was the third child out of six siblings born to the late Larry Timothy McDonald Sr. and Valerie Diane Booker McDonald on November 22, 1978. He lived in Orange all his life. He was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He attended schools in the WOCCISD. He loved baseball, gardening . Shon found great comfort in listening to music, singing and he had a passion for writing music. He worked in construction when he was healthy. Despite Shon’s illness, he always found the time to make others laugh and lift up their spirits. He had a contagious smile.
Shon was preceded in death by his father, Larry Timothy McDonald Sr, his brother, Carlos LaJuan McDonald, his grandparents; L.C. and Lillian Booker and Robert and Dell Joyce, and Hattie Mae McDonald. His special Aunt, Jeanette McDonald Gayles and special Uncle Robert Velmo McDonald Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Valerie Diane Booker McDonald, his six children, Ra’Shon McDonald, Kahleb Degay, Betty McDonald, Shondreya McDonald, Brishon McDonald, and Carlos McDonald. Two grand daughters, Ah’lanah and Amelia. His brother, Larry Timothy McDonald Jr., his three sisters; Keisha McDonald, Kashaetta McDonald (Larry), Ah’Kela McDonald-Harris, (Di’Andre). He also leaves his loving Aunts, Cendy Pearl Hall (2nd Mother), Debra Spears , Sheila McCoy, Deborah McElroy, Sandra Gray, Tricia Williams, Diane Colbert, Betty Warnell, and Sarah Lowe. Two Uncles, Alvin Grant and Pastor John Rusty Doyle. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends who loved him dearly. He also leaves a special friend, who stayed by his bedside at the hospital, Alecia Gamble.
