Vidor Band Fourth At State

The Vidor Pirate “Band of Bands” competed against 10 other 4A schools at the State Military Marching Contest that was held Tuesday in Longview.

The Pirates, lead by Band Director Kara Phillips, competed early in the semifinals and then had to wait until 8:45pm to perform in the finals.

Lindale High School won the contest, followed by Henderson, Gilmer, the Pirates, and Carthage was fifth.

In the 1A/2A Finals also held Tuesday, Carlisle HS won, followed by Timpson, Beckville and Union Grove.

LCM, Bridge City, Orangefield and Deweyville will participate in the UIL Area Marching Contest Saturday.
