
Don “Duck” Michell Wilson, 69, of Orange, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, in Orange. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021 at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Duck was born in Orange, Texas on November 25, 1951 to Evelyn Michell Wilson and Louis Wilson. He remained in Orange his entire life, other than when he was stationed in South Korea while proudly serving in the United States Army. He worked for Sentinel as a truck driver for many years, until his retirement in 2016. He was a simple man with a life-long passion for mules and horses, enjoying many trail rides with good friends over the years. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, but especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren that lovingly called him PawPaw.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Evelyn Wilson; daughter Michell “Shelly” Rogers; brothers, Joe Wilson, Jerry Wilson and Henry Wilson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Susan Franklin Wilson; son, Brian Wilson and wife Natalie of Orange; two sisters, Nita Douglas of Portland, Oregon and Faye Gibbons of Hemphill, Texas; mother-in-law, Olga Franklin of Orange; grandchildren, Dillon Trahan, Kirstee Trahan Dews, Ashlynn Wilson and Braden Wilson, all of Orange and many great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Glende, J.C. Reeves, Dillon Trahan, Braden Wilson, Brian Wilson and Zachary Plant. Honorary pallbearer will be Jackie Harrison.
