Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered a stolen Indian motorcycle after chasing a man who wrecked the cycle during a Sunday afternoon chase.
The motorcycle, along with other items, had been stolen from the new Columbanus Motorsports building, 3500 Interstate 10 West at Tejas Parkway.
Orange County Jail Records show 31-year-old Adam Christopher LeJeune of Bridge City is being held for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest with a motor vehicle.
Orange Police Department Captain Robert Enmon said officers went to a burglary call at Columbanus at 9:30 Sunday morning. Someone had pulled down the back fence and got inside through a back door. Once inside, they took the motorcycle and two pressure washers.
Later, the contractor doing the building renovations discovered his trailer with tools and equipment had also been stolen.
Enmon said sheriff’s deputies found the trailer abandoned on Allison Lane. Tools and equipment were missing.
He said a deputy spotted the motorcycle at 2:19 p.m. and began chasing it. The motorcycle eventually wrecked and the rider ran away. A suspect was soon found hiding inside a nearby house.
