A jury Wednesday found Elijah Traylor of Houston guilty of aggravated robbery of EZ Pawn in Orange in 2019.
His punishment will be set at a later date. The first degree felony carries a punishment of five to life in a Texas prison. He opted to have 163rd District Judge Rex Peveto set the punishent instead of the jury.
Jordan Broussard, also of Houston, pleaded guilty last year to the same robbery. The plea bargain had a punishment of 25 years in prison.
The pawn store on 16th Street was robbed and an Orange Police Department patrol officer saw vehicle speed away from the business. He chased the vehicle and stopped it. Police recovered $50,000 worth of jewelry inside the vehicle.
