Ray Arthur, 84, of Orange passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in his daughter, JoAnna Arthur’s home in Orange, TX.
He was born on October 1, 1936 in Bloomington, Indiana to his parents, Noah Arthur and Edna Chuter. Ray enjoyed the outdoors-gardening, fishing, and building beach houses. He also enjoyed playing X-box video games. Ray retired from Texas State Optical after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Edna Arthur and his sister, Carolyn Finley.
Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Arthur of Orange; children JoAnna Arthur, David Arthur, Chet Arthur, Sandra Ahmed, Kathy Douglas and Debbie Button; grandchildren Jadan Arthur, Jordan Arthur, Chris Ahmed and Cody Ahmed; great-grandchildren Lillian and Laylah Ahmed; sisters Ladonna Martin and Theresa Hardman.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
