The Orange City Council is set to approve a 10-year tax abatement with the company building a medical center with micro-hospital.
The council will vote on the agreement during a regular meeting at 9 Tuesday morning.
The proposed medical complex is planned at Eagle Point commercial acreage off Interstate 10 at Highway 62.
The tax abatement will be with NexCore/Orange Multi-Specialty Real Estate Holdings. The council agenda has the city giving an abatement that will begin at 100 percent for the first two years after substantial completion. The rate will decrease until it reaches a 20 percent abatement during the tenth year. After that, the property will be taxed at full value.
The council has a scheduled closed-door executive session to discuss possible litigation involving liquidation damages at the new Riverside Pavilion by the Boat Ramp off Simmons Drive. The contractor is Better Built Metal Buildings.
The city’s Economic Development Corporation board of directors will meet before the council at 8:30 a.m. The meetings are in the council auditorium next to the Orange Public Library.
