
Elizabeth Ann Simmons, age 69 of Orange, Texas, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Services to honor her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Bickham officiating. Interment will follow at Jett Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Ann was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on March 12, 1951 to Ruby Cozine Reynolds Turner and Richard Quincy Turner. She married her sweetheart James Edward Simmons, Sr. and the couple made their home in Orange to raise their three children. Ann worked for years as a beautician in the Orange area. She enjoyed connecting with everyone on facebook and playing on her tablet. However what she enjoyed the most was her family and having a full house filled with laughter and good food. Ann loved having sister’s day.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Simmons, Sr., her sister Teresa Rena Turner and parents Richard and Ruby Turner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; David Wayne Simmons and husband Carlton Bruce Wagoner of Orange, TX, James Edward “Eddie” Simmons, Jr. and his wife Heidi Holm Simmons of Orange, TX and Tina Louise Simons of Orange, TX, sisters, Patsy Russell of Orange, TX and Mary Jane Hanks and her husband Keith of Orange, TX, five grandchildren; Trey Craft, K’Leah Peveto, Seth James Simmons, Dawson Reed Bussell and Devin Daejon Green, three grandchildren; Drake Thomas Craft, Blain Xavier Craft, Brynn Michelle Renee Craft and one to arrive in September and nieces and nephews; Gary Russell, Jr., Sandy Russell, James Russell, Crystal Teneyuque, Kimberly Hanks, Charla Vasquez, Brian Knox and Jeremy Knox.
