Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in Beaumont John D. McElroy of Orange was sworn in by Senior United States District Judge Thad Heartfield as the new Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Texas.
McElroy graduated from Orangefield High School and earned his law degree from Texas Tech University.
