Clinton Hal McWhirter, age 64 of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 in Beaumont, Texas. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Mauriceville with Pastor Jeremy Walton officiating. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Mauriceville on Wednesday. Dorman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Hal was born in Dequincy, Louisiana on June 11, 1956 to Dorothy Lorena Baggett McWhirter and Delbert Urman McWhirter, Jr. He graduated from Little Cypress Mauriceville High School in 1974 and he was a faithful lifelong member of First Baptist Church Mauriceville. Hal retired from Motiva after 42 years of service. His passion was cycling with his friends, time with his wife and family and his love of animals. He always had a love for being outdoors, whether it was kayaking or raising a garden.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne McWhirter and his sister-in-law Gail McWhirter.
Hal is survived by his wife of 38 years, Becky McWhirter, son JR Simmons of Phoenix AZ, sister Pam Easterling and her husband Tom of Arkansas, brother Linn McWhirter and his wife Colleen of Gist TX, and sister Kris Trimmier and her husband Wayne of Midlothian, TX, nieces; Kimberly Wood and her husband Chris, Alicia Sorrentino and her husband Rich, Shelly Pinkerton and her husband Kevin and Jennifer Handley and her husband Darryl, and nephews; Patrick Anderson, Clint McWhirter, Orrin McWhirter and his wife Callie, Ethan Trimmier and his wife Jocelyn and Sean Trimmier.
