Mildred Louise Bishop, age 91 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Orange, Texas. Services to honor Mildred’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home with Jerry Sonier officiating. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at New Jerusalem Cemetery in Winfield, Louisiana.
Mildred was born inToomey, Louisiana on July 11, 1929 to Isabel Jackson Sonier and Rufus Sonier. She loved her family and dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Mildred enjoyed canning vegetables and making jelly. She was a wonderful cook and liked to crotchet when she had time. Mildred loved going to play bingo and watch the horse races with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Bishop, daughter, Joyce Holloway, sons, Larry Trahan, Johnny Bishop Jr., Bobby Bishop, brothers, James Milton Sonier and Charles “Buck” Sonier, sister, Emma “DD” Miller, and grandson, Johnny Trahan.
Survived by her sons, Earl Trahan and his wife Linda, Dennis Trahan, John Harold Trahan and his wife Susan, David “Mugzy” Trahan and his wife Shelly, and daughter, Rhonda Gail Dryden sisters, Lois Guidry, Elizabeth “TT” Farris, brother, John Sonier, and over 80 grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids.
Pallbearers to honor Mildred will be James “Taco” Holloway, Earl Trahan, Rusty Trahan, Joseph Trahan, David “Mugz” Trahan, Dennis Trahan, John Trahan and Michael Trahan.
