Funeral Services for Joe Benny Foward, age 84, will be Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11 a.m., in the Magnolia Chapel of Price Mortuary in Orange, TX. Visitation for friends and family will be Friday, October 9, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Rosary will be at 10 a.m. , before the funeral service. Interment will follow services at Hollywood Cemetery in Orange. TX.
On September 13, 1936, Joe Foward was born in Galveston, TX to Mr. Gus Welcome and Ms. Jessie Foward. He was affectionately known as “Joe Baby”. Later he moved to Orange to live with his grandparents, Mr. Henry and Mrs. Hilda Foward. He graduated from Emma H. Wallace High School in 1955.
He was a lifelong member of St Therese Catholic Church. He was a faithful member until his health began to failed.
He was employed by Construction and General Laborers Local 154 and retired December, 1988 after 35 years of service. He was a true fan of sports, enjoyed planting flowers, especially roses and spending time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 41 years, Mrs. Lillie Mae Foward; daughters, Stephanie Foward Sims, Joyce Simmons, Judy Chavis, and Valletta Simmons all of Orange; Gracie Franklin of Chicago, IL; Belinda McFalling of Portland, OR; sons, Bryant K. Foward (Kizzy) of Orange, TX; Joe B. Foward, Jr (Sabrina) of Portland, OR; Warren Morris (Elmarie), Richard Morris (Lucille), Joan Morris(Carolyn), Earl Simmons(Jana), Willard Simmons(Alberta) all of Orange, TX; Special grandson, Henry Foward of Orange, TX; sister, Jean Ballord of Houston, TX; 29 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
