Orange narcotics officers arrested three people during traffic stops during the weekend.
Detective Stephen Ward reported he stopped a silver Toyota about 2:30 Sunday morning in the 2700 block of North Lutcher Drive. He said the vehicle showed a signal to turn from the right lane to the left lane, however the signal was given less than 100 feet before the turn, as required by law.
During the trafic stop, the detective arrested Brandon Wilder Hale of Orange after finding a controlled substance.
Saturday night about 9:30, Ward stopped a red Mercury four-door sedan at MLK Drive at Simmons Drive because the car had an expired registration. He said the woman inside was nervous and was trying to feel for identification in her purse.
The officer said he saw a plastic “dime bag” used for drugs sticking out of the womans pants pocket. During a search, the detective found a mint box in the woman’s purse. The mint box had 14 hydrocodone pills and three oxycodone pills. He also found one Xanax and one perphenezin.
Rebecca Ann Isaacs of Orange was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Ward arrested a Bridge City man on possession charges after a traffic stop about 10 Friday night at Sunset Drive and 16th Street.
The detective reported he stopped a black GMC pickup truck because the right rear brake light was out and the both license plate light covers were cracked.
The officer found a small amount of marijuana and a plastic baggie with methamphetamine.Robert Brian Glisson was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail.
A shoplifting was reported Friday at Family Dollar, 1301 16th Street. Store personnel said someone Thursday evening filled a shopping cart with merchandise and checked out. When the debit card was declined, the person pushed the cart with $319.88 in merchandise out without paying.
