Winnie Rose (Johnson) Elliott passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 19, 2020, at the young age of 87. She was born on April 9, 1933, in Starks, LA. She is preceded in death by parents, Dave C. Johnson, Slanie (Brown) Johnson. Her husband, Carl C. Elliott, Sr, sisters Lavern Fleetwood, and Jeanette Rice. Nephews, Johnny Holland, and Leny Rice, who were very special to her.
She is survived by brother, Hardy Johnson (Mallory), of Hilton Head, SC. Children, Carl C. Elliott, Jr. (Brenda), Karen Organ (John), Shannon Gentry (Buz), and Crystal Freed (Danny).
Grandchildren, Elana Dunn (Matt), Trae Elliott (Brandee), Tammy Mathis (Jason), John Organ, Jr, Rachel Jones (Gabe), Josh Thomas, Luke Thomas, and Julie Authement (Eric). Fourteen great grandchildren whom she adored, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss her sweet smile.
She was the heart of our family and had a feisty, but loving, way that we all treasured. She was a gifted artist, a seamstress, hairdresser, and could fix just about anything you can think of. Her happiest place was to be at the beach with the whole family, eating fresh caught crabs for hours, laughing and telling us all what we needed to work on.
She was a woman of God and loved telling her grandkids about the beauty of faith and grace. We are at peace knowing she is the most beautiful angel celebrating in Heaven, in the arms of Jesus.

An abundance of gratitude, love, and appreciation, for her neice, Melody, (Tootie) Jones, who went over and above providing loving care to her, and to us all, during this difficult time.
Due to the current health crisis, a private family visitation will be held at Dorman Funeral Home, prior to graveside services on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Doyle Cemetery, Starks, LA, beginning at 11:30 AM, where your presence is welcomed. Nephew, Pastor Bobby J. Rice will officiate. Pall Bearers; John Organ, Jr., Trae Elliott, Josh Thomas, Luke Thomas, Hunter Mathis, and Marcus Dunn. Honorary pallbearer’s, Buz Gentry, John Organ, Sr., and Danny Freed.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to the Alzheimer’s/Dementia foundations.
