Barbara Ann Sizemore, age 79, of Orange, Texas, left this world to spend eternity with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 6, 2020. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2020, at the United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas, with Pastor Murry Ray officiating.
Barbara was born in Batesburg, South Carolina on Friday, January 24, 1941, to parents, Martha Ida (Hall) and Woodrow Hartley. She came to know the love of her life when she met Herbert Sizemore, Sr. The couple later married and made their home in Orange, Texas in 1963. Barbara labored diligently as a homemaker, nurses’ aid, and home health nurse. Throughout the years, she was a wonderful caregiver to both her family and her patients. In 1971, she began her spiritual journey at the Orange Church on Border Street. During her 50 years in the Lord’s service, she became a mentor, prayer warrior, and guide to countless people. Her unwavering belief in the Truth was unparalleled and an inspiration to many. She enjoyed various types of puzzles, reading, crocheting, a good watermelon with a cold biscuit, as well as any activity spent with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Her caring demeanor and comforting presence made her “Maw-Maw” to many. She loved a good laugh, often instigating it herself with her quirky phrases and jesting. Who can forget that twinkle in her eyes as she smiled or her squinting eyes as she laughed until she cried?
Barbara was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a wonderful friend who will forever be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her.
