Orange police are investigating a stolen handgun as a strongarm robbery. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said a man was in his garage cleaning his gun when a man he knows came up, slapped him, and stole the gun.
The incident was abot 10 a.m. Thursday at a house in the 1000 block of Ruby Lane in the Clairmont neighborhood. Enmon said the gun owner had minor injuries.
Police confiscated a handgun Sunday afternoon at the International Apartments, 4750 Meeks Drive. Officers were called about 3:45 p.m. concerning a disturbance involving kids at the pool. Enmon said a woman told the patrol officer a teenager had a gun. The 17-year-old male was by a Jeep. The officer found a gun near the vehicle, but could not connect it with the youth. The officer took the gun to the police station.
Sunday afternoon, a landscape maintenance crew at Sabine River Ford had a Stihl blower stolen from their trailer as they worked. Police were called to the business, 1601 Green Avenue, about 1 p.m.
On Thursday morning, police went to the Hampton Inn, 2080 Interstate 10, when a man reported a vehicle burglary with items stolen. A residential burglary was reported about 7 Sunday evening at an apartment at Sabine Park Apartments, 111 Pine Avenue.
