My, Mr. H…
God given name is, Junior Lee Hendreson. He was born to Lee Henderson and Cleora Morris September 14, 1931, Lake Providence, LA. He came to Orange, TX at the age of 18. Later he established a business, Hendreson Service Station. He took pride in waiting on or assisting his customers.
I’m smiling, laughing, as I think back. I can still see my sister Martha’s face after she introduced me to Mr. Hendreson. I was taught to be nice, which I was while standing there. As we were walking away, I asked her was she crazy. He’s short & much older than me, I gave her a look, that she wasn’t expecting. Apparently, it didn’t matter. A year later, on September 25, 1982, we were married. I married that short guy, and told him, from day one, I’m not calling, Junior, you will be my Mr. H. Thirty-seven years we shared together. Never a dull moment, he kept me laughing, he showed me what love really was meant to be, even with the ups and downs, there was nothing but joy and laughter. In those thirty-seven years, not ever did he not tell me, “I love you” every day. He was a true gentleman, he was my strength, my “rock.”
On February 12, 2020, my Mr. H gained his wings. My world, at that moment didn’t seem to exist, my heart felt heavy, had to catch my breath, he was gone, 37 years, flashing before me, as the tears fell.
Mr. H leaves behind, my two oldest children, whom he raised and they both deeply loved him dearly. Chantel Walker (Marcus) of Fort Worth, TX and James Dunson (Tosha) of Houston, TX. We have one daughter, together, his heart, Janae’ Hendreson, of Houston, TX. He also leaves behind, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mattie Johnson and a stepson, Archie Hubbard, both of Orange, TX and a sister, Mrs. Lula Grant of Houston, TX and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Mr. H had a full life and a heart of gold, always trying to help someone. After meeting him, he made certain you left with a smile or a laugh. He enjoyed meeting/chatting with everyone. Ask anyone in Orange “do you know, Mr. Junior or Mr. Hendreson? He was well loved.
Mr. H don’t be up there calling everyone “cool baby” and using a hammer on everything, “did you smart back at me?” LoL…
They say, “time heals a broken heart”, this pain I’m feeling, will take a long time, to heal. God gave me part of himself, through my Mr. H, my earthly “rock.”
FLY HIGH, dear heart, you can rest now, you were my Mr. H, and shall be,
Always Love You!
Your wife, Deborah
