Thursday morning the Shahan Center at Lamar State College Orange hosted its first fashion show as the long awaited fishing jersey was unveiled for the first time, displaying all of the sponsors who have helped make bass fishing at LSCO a reality.
Club Advisors Therea Celestine, Chris Horner and Workforce Grant Coordinator Denisha Keszeg introduced the sponsors before Chris Hantz, JW Dalton and Dennis Malone of Top Deck, Inc. had the honor of undressing the mannequin of its Gill rain gear to show the audience the sponsor jersey.
Club members Jack Tindel III, Trace Moore, Dagan Leger, Melvin Kohn, Brett Fregia and Kooper Abernathy were introduced and they walked the runway through the audience to give them a closer look.
Top Deck Inc., First Financial Bank, Gopher Industrial, Dominion Inc., Orange County Marine, Sabine Federal Credit Union, Granger Chevrolet, Rambo Outdoors, Spanky’s Restaurant, OCEDC, Pete Jorgensen Marine, Moreau Transportation, Stout Builders, The Parker Law Firm, Innovative Air, International Paper, Texas Southern Plumbing, County Judge John Gothia and KOGT Radio were recognized for their sponsorship contributions.
LSCO President Thomas Johnson said he was excited and that more people ask him about the new club than any other program on campus. Former college fishermen Josh Bensema and Dakota Ebare were guest speakers who told the super six to enjoy the opportunity and take advantage of the relationships you make because you never know what it will lead to.
There are ten tournaments on the schedule, starting with the Bassmaster College Series Tournament on Toledo Bend Jan. 23-25.
