Priscilla Ann Gamblin
McDonald; 79, of Orange, TX passed from this life into eternal rest on October
26, 2019. Priscilla “Ann” was born in Philadelphia, MS on December 19, 1939 to
Reverend W.E. and Alma Gamblin. Ann enjoyed growing up in a minister’s home with
her brother Don, where they never wanted for fellowship or fun. To say Ann was
a devoted daughter to her parents would be an understatement. The only thing
that rivaled her love of friends and family was the love for her animals…dogs
in particular!
For many years, Ann was employed as a Caregiver by clients in
their golden years; a vocation she loved and that suited her so well. When
families were searching for a compassionate, generous, fun-loving person to
care for their loved one, they never had to look any further than Ann. She was
a perfectionist! Everything she did for her clients was perused with excellence
and motivated by love.
In June of 1960, Ann married Reverend Gary Moss of
Indianapolis, IN. Gary and Ann served the Lord and church well for many years;
traveling across the country singing and preaching the gospel. No one could
play the accordion quite like Ann! However, that was not Gary and Ann’s
greatest achievement. Their greatest accomplishment was having two beautiful
daughters; Brooke and Christie. Years later Ann and Gary’s lives moved in
separate directions. In April of 1989, Ann married Eugene McDonald. With this
union they shared a remarkable bond and love and brought the blessings of four
bonus daughters Cindy, Tene, Laura and Misty. Ann loved them and they loved
her. She and Eugene spent nearly three decades enjoying life and loving each
other. He carried his favorite picture of her in his wallet and would share
this with others. Together they weathered more than a few storms both literally,
when Hurricane Harvey visited them, and figuratively, when Ann’s health began
to fail. Eugene’s love for his precious Ann never waned. Her bonus daughter,
Cindy provided loving care and stability to Ann during her recent sickness. She
was truly a God-send.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; Earl and Alma
Gamblin and her brother, Donald. Those left behind to cherish her memory are
her husband of thirty years; Eugene McDonald, two daughters; Brooke Lively and
companion, Mike Mitchell of Dallas, Christie Thompson and her husband, Reverend
Cody Thompson, of Orange Park, FL. Bonus daughters, Cindy Shults and husband
Robert, Tena Orozco and husband Eddie, Laura Konecny and husband Raymond and
Misty Monceaux. Grandchildren; Ryan and Lauren Lively, Rylie, Christian, and
Rian Thompson, Jimmy Shafer, Brandon Hanson, Justin Hanson, Lauren Shafer
Lpassed, Daniela Clark, Kristal Nunley and Lynndsay Roane, along with great
grandchildren and a host of friends and extended family.
