Tina Marie Vega, 61, of Orange, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Tina was born on September 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to Rueben and Beverly Sweezy. She is described by her family as selfless, a giver, caring, and smart. Tina would always put the needs of others above her own and that is what made her very good as a nurse. She went to nursing school, graduated, became a nurse and then let her license lapse, so she went to nursing school a second time! Tina was strong-willed and had a definite opinion; she was also goofy and always smiling. She enjoyed fishing, reading romance novels, collecting clowns, and was known to always have a 44 once cup in her hand with a red straw. Tina was a woman of faith and she attended the Church of Christ.
Tina is preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Beverly Sweezy; a brother, Phillip Sweezy; and a sister, Roberta Sweezy.
Tina is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Richard Vega, of Orange, TX; her children, Dawn Almonte, and husband, Adam, of Vidor, TX, Donnie Roberts, and wife, Kelli, of Alexandria, LA; and Brittany Ledet, and wife, Heather, of Orange, TX; her 6 grandchildren, Skylar, Christian, and Preston Petitjean, Brielle and Brynnlie Winfree, and Mason Roberts; brothers, Tom, David, Mike, and George; a sister, Susan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
