A celebration of Wayne Reid’s life, age 81, of Brookeland, TX will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until start of Service at the funeral home.
Wayne was born on April 1, 1938 in Harper, Kansas and died on September 19, 2019 at his home in Brookeland, TX. A native of Attica, Kansas, he was a former resident of Bridge City, TX and a longtime resident of Brookeland, TX. He was a machinist and loved sailing. He liked to build all kinds of things. As a young man, he built a sailboat in Kansas. He retired after 50 years as a machinist with Bayer Chemicals.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pat Reid of Brookeland, TX; his daughters, Stacie Peveto and husband Randy of Lumberton, TX and Lori Khan and Stig Hestholm of Houston, TX; sister, Joyce Seipel of Harper, KS; grandchildren, Nicholas Granger and wife Kacie, Brittney Barrett and husband Brandon, Christie Cooper and Renee Cross; great-grandchildren, Savannah Worley, Abigayle Granger, Allison Barrett, Lillian Granger, Paisleigh Granger, Gavin Cooper and Isabella Pileggi; and a special friends, Mary and Lendell Bray of Brookeland, TX and Helen and Richard Chapman of Brookeland, TX.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Vera Reid; brothers, Larry Reid and Stanley Reid; and sisters, Peggy Reid and Phillis Fleming.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lendell Bray, Nicholas Granger, Randy Peveto, Stig Hestholm, Richard Chapman and Brandon Barrett.
