Jerry Wynne Richards, 78, of Deweyville, TX passed away on September 3, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Deweyville; born December 16, 1940 to Joseph and Almeda Richard. Jerry served his country faithfully and honorably in the U.S. Air Force. On any given day you could drive by and find him sitting on his front porch. Watching his kids and grandkids compete in sports was something he really enjoyed. Jerry enjoyed many things, but the most cherished time was spent with his two dogs, Sheree and Daisy; they never left his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Edna June Richards; and his parents, Joseph and Almeda Richard.
Jerry is survived by his children, Mark Richards, and wife, Lisa of Little Cypress, Sonja Smith, and husband, Boyd “Smitty”, of Starks, Charlie Richards, and wife, Patricia of Deweyville, and Carla Richard, and husband, Glen of Vinton; sisters, Jean McMillian, of Deweyville, and Mary Lou “Pie” Hufstetler, of California; left to cherish his memory are his beloved grandchildren, Whitley Shea D Richards, Aaron and Austin Ferguson, Olivia and Emma Richards, and Kade, Raelyn, and Logan Richard.
The Family will receive friends on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Chapel at Dorman Funeral Home. Services Honoring the Life of Jerry Wynne Richards will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00am at Hartburg Baptist Church in Deweyville. Interment will follow immediately at Deweyville Cemetery.
