Billy Ray Coward, age 54 of Vinton, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his home in Vinton, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family. Services to honor Billy’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Mauriceville Church of Christ with Pastor Chris Eppler officiating. Interment will follow at Miller Annex Cemetery in Vinton, Louisiana. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Mauriceville Church of Christ for a sharing of memories and visitation. Dorman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Billy was born in Orange, Texas on November 1, 1964 to Patsy Ruth Huckaby Coward and Almond Rand Coward. He worked for many years auto body repair industry before his illness. He also enjoyed raising cattle and horses. He was a member of Mauriceville Church of Christ. Billy was a very active member of the Texas Baptist Athletic Association of the Deaf as well as volunteering for the Lions Club of Orange. He also spent a great deal of his time with the Young Farmers of Buna Association. Billy loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family that he loved so much. Billy will be remembered and missed for his kind loving spirit that was able to touch so many lives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Almond Rand Coward and two sisters.
Survivors include his mother Patsy Conway and her husband Virgil of Vinton, LA, sons, Scott Richard and his fiancé Jayce Gore of Lumberton, TX and Ryan Coward of Kirbyville, TX, daughter Raeanne Jones and her husband Thomas Wade III of Beaumont, TX, sister Beth Meaux of Orange, TX, grandson Hunter Richard, mother of his children Luanne Gore of Kirbyville, TX, niece Deidra Marler and her husband Brandon of Orange, TX, nephew William Davidson and his wife Stephanie of Call, TX and special aunt Paula Ousley and her husband Tim of Orangefield, TX. As well as numerous cousins and friends.
Pallbearers to honor Billy will be John Huckaby, William Davidson, Brian Ousley, Steven Ousley, Lester Brittain and Raymond Granger. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Davidson and Donald Beltz.
