The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension sponsored its annual Youth Cooking Camp this week at the Convention and Expo Center. Sixty children ages 8 to 14 years old participated in the camp. They made several dishes including grilling chicken for kabobs. The best part was sampling what was cooked by everyone.
The purpose of the Youth Cooking Camp is to teach the kids all aspects of preparing food properly and cleaning up afterwards. “This is preparing them for life,” Fallon Foster Agricultural Extension Agent explained.
