Baseball State Champions were crowned this weekend for the 2019 season.
Class A
D’Hanis defeated New Home 4-0 for the school’s second championship (1995).
Class 2A
Big Sandy over Linden-Kildare 7-1 for back to back titles. It’s the third straight year BS has played in the championship. Losing to Muenster the first year and beating Muenster last season.
Class 3A
Wall beat Blanco 2-1, scoring both runs in the sixth inning, for the school’s first state title. The title comes after having to score in the seventh to beat Kirbyville in nine innings in the semi-final game.
Class 4A
Argyle goes back to back beating Sweeny 6-3. In the last two seasons they are 77-1.
Class 5A
Colleyville Heritage needed just 6 innings to beat Georgetown 14-2 for their first title. They also had three players selected in the MLB draft.
Class 6A
SL Carroll shutout FB Ridge Point 17-0 in 5 innings for its second straight title. And they returned NO starters from last years State Champion team. Their 17 runs was also a 6A record for the Title game.
