
A 68-year-old man investigated for running around in only boxer underwear and beating on a door with an ax told Orange police he had smoked crack cocaine and marijuana.
Police had a 911 call at 8:42 Saturday morning to the 800 block of Park Avenue in the Old Orange Historic District.
A woman told Officer L.T. Holland the man had come at her with the ax and he was “hollering and screaming,” according to the police report.
The woman said she went back to her residence and the man was beating on the door with the ax. She told police the man lived in a camper nearby.
Officer Holland reported he went to the camper and heard screaming from inside. He also saw a wall on the camper bow out like someone was hitting it. Then the front glass of the camper broke.
The man eventually came outside and surrendered. He was wearing nothing but the underwear.
Police said Michael Cruse was arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana after officers found a marijuana cigarette and rolling papers inside the camper where he was living.
Police arrested a 44-year-old man for criminal trespassing after he was found inside a house in the Brownwood neighborhood during the middle of the night. The resident of the house was at work.
Someone called the police department at 3:40 a.m. Sunday after seeing a man go into the house. Police called the owner at work. They said no one had permission to be in the house.
The resident came and allowed police inside. Police saw a man sitting on the floor of a room. He had six misdemeanor warrants from Orange Municipal Court, plus a felony possession of a controlled substance warrant through State 128th District Court.
Police arrested Ricky Dale Guillory Jr. for the warrants along with criminal trespassing.
The Texas Department of Public Safety in Houston recovered a pickup truck stolen from the Sabine River Ford used car lot Friday night.
Orange police went to the dealership at 8:25 Saturday morning to take the report of the 2015 Ford F-350 truck that was missing.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the DPS found the truck about noon Sunday parked at a Houston apartment complex.
Two burglaries of vehicles were reported to police in the past days. Friday morning, items were stolen from a car in the 1800 block of 20th Street and then Saturday morning items were reported missing from a vehicle in the 2600 block of Eighth Street in the Brownwood neighborhood.
