The Orange Police Department handled a traffic stop on Tuesday that resulted in an arrest. Officer Medina reported he was patrolling north Highway 62 early Tuesday at 1:49 AM when he observed a white Chevrolet S10 pull from a private drive onto the highway.
Medina noticed the tail lamps on the vehicle were defective and were not illuminating. The officer made a traffic stop during which he made contact with the driver who identified himself Timothy Coleman. Medina recognized him from previous encounters as Christian Winfrey.
A check showed Coleman had a suspended driver’s license. Medina placed Coleman, age 27, in handcuffs and transported him to the Orange County Jail for driving with an invalid license and a vehicle with defective equipment.
The police are also investigating an assault that occurred early Tuesday morning. Officer Dorman was dispatched at about 1:15 AM Tuesday to 410 W. Campus in Orange in reference to a possible robbery. There Dorman met with the victim who told the officer that an unknown person assaulted him outside the west side of his house. Stephens stated he did want to press criminal charges.
