Elsie Googins, age 67, passed away on Thursday December 6th, 2018 at Pinehurst Nursing and Rehabilitation of Orange TX. She was born on June 2, 1951 in Houston MN to Clarissa (Housker) Iverson and Phillip Akre. She was a 1969 graduate of Winona Senior High School. Right after high school, she met the love of her life Robert Googins. Together they had a hobby farm outside of Clear Lake WI and had 2 children, Scott and Angela. Elsie enjoyed gardening, going to auctions and she was well known in the area for her pies. Later they moved to Texas to get out of the cold. Elsie is survived by her son Scott (Donna) Googins and Angela Googins, both of Orange TX, multiple grandchildren, sister, Carol (Loran) Paetzel, brothers, Mike Iverson, Earl Quinnell, all of Winona MN.
