Cities and school boards have already begun the process of calling elections for May 4 and candidates will begin filing to run in January.
The Texas Secretary of State has set filings to begin Wednesday, January 16, and end at 5 p.m. Friday, February 15. Locally, fillings are made during business hours on regular business days.
The last day to register to vote for the May 4 election will be April 4. Early voting in person will begin Monday, April 22, and end on April 30.
City council elections are set for Orange, Pinehurst, West Orange, Bridge City, and Vidor. School district board elections on May 4 will be the West Orange-Cove CISD, Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, Bridge City ISD, and Vidor ISD.
Orangefield and Deweyville school districts have board elections in November.
