For the first time publicly, the developer of the “old Cody’s” property has announced that Chick-Fil-A is a featured store in the strip center that will include approximately 13 rentable spaces.
Tuesday morning, Jeff Mallet of Houston spoke during the Orange Economic Development Committee Meeting, and said Chick-Fil-A, along with an unnamed beverage store (believed to be Starbucks) will be involved with the new development that covers 6.5 acres that runs from the frontage road to the Orange water tower.
The city will spend up to $350,000 in infrastructure. EDC Director Jay Trahan said there will also be a new 15th Street constructed that will run parallel with the railroad tracks to the frontage road, as opposed to the old one which curved and connected to 16th Street.
No timeline was given on the project.
