With seniors playing their last game on their home field, Orangefield had a big 56-0 win over Warren.
The Bobcats immediately jumped on Warren in the first quarter. After Chase Broussard brought the ball to the Warrior’s 28 yard line the Bobcats completed several handoffs to senior Blake Bradley, who eventually found his way into the end zone. Senior Derek Glaze, followed this with the extra point. With 8:24 left in the first, the Bobcats led 7-0.
Warren responded by attempting a couple of passes which were broken up by the Cat’s defense including Kaden Dubois and Clayson Choate. After a couple of handoffs without major yardage Warren punted the ball.
Striking again, the Bobcats strung together some nice runs. Taking a hand off, Kadeon Evans ran for 12 yards. Following rushes by Bradley then Choate, the Cats set Evans up perfectly for his touchdown run. With Glaze’s extra point, Orangefield added to their lead – going into the second ahead 14-0.
Coming into the second quarter Heston Puckett got the Cats fired up with an interception. From there Gunner Jones finished a long drive with a two-yard toss to Logan Gipson for the touchdown. Dubose followed this up shortly after with a 14-yard touchdown. With 1:04 left in the half, Orangfield led 28-0.
The second half was just as eventful for Orangefield. The Cats defense continued to work hard with a big stop from senior Lane Rach and and an interception from Dubois. After a long run by Bradley, Evans made it 35-0 when he found a hole and ran for an 8-yard touchdown. After a short drive from Warren, Orangefield chipped away with a couple of runs by Choate and Puckett before Bradley found a hole and made the score 42-0 with the help of Glaze’s extra point. After several nice runs by freshman Hunter Ashworth, Kent Michael added to the scoreboard with another 8-yard touchdown. After a fumble that was recovered by Cade Brown and a couple of nice carries from Matthew Engle, Jones broke for a touchdown scoring run with just under three minutes left in the game – making the final score 56-0
